Who makes better digital cameras Sony or Canon and why?

Who makes better digital cameras Sony or Canon and why?
I always go for the Sony Cyber-Shot series for point and shoot cameras. For the point-and- shoot category, they are the top-of-the line. I got much better results with Sony than the Canon Powershot.

Perki has a point. The original reason why I bought my Sony was because it felt the best in my hands compared to any of the others.

Also, that is how I decided on my DSLR...Who makes a better car, Ford or Chevy? Ask the owner of either one and they'll swear it's their brand, but when it comes down to it, it's what is what's comfortable in your hands and wallet. Neither are losers.

I happen to be a happy Canon owner, 40d, 300d and G10.

I'm looking for a new camera and I've always been a big fan of Sony products, my mom has a Canon Powershot and I had a Sony Cyber-shot T70 I think, both camera are nice. But I want your opinion.
