What are some high end compact digital cameras that take AA batteries?
You should buy a camera that comes with it's own recharchable battery. My old camera wasted tons and tons of AAs you dont want to spend that much on batteries when you are already spending money on electricity so you might as well take advantage.I have a Canon Powershot S3IS that takes 4 double A batteries. One set of batteries will last me a whole night of doing astrophotography. I usually take around 100 pictures a night, and it takes great video too. If you have any questions about it let me know.

Like the size of Canon elphs or a little bigger, but they have to be high end. Do not name those bigger cameras like Canon S5.
