Digital Cameras Under 0 - Just Point and Shoot

Finding digital cameras under 0 is easier than ever these days as technology keeps improving and prices keep dropping. But there are some industry fundamentals to understand first so that you fully know what you might be purchasing.
Cameras are divided into various categories, the most obvious of which would be old-fashioned film-based cameras and digital cameras. Digital cameras in turn are generally divided into two classes, SLRs and compacts. It is this latter group that comprises those digital cameras under 0 to be found.
Increasingly there is beginning to be more and more of an overlap in duties and capabilities between SLRs and compacts, but for now the two are still quite distinct, not the least of which is through their prices.
If you simply want something to document en event and have nothing but the most casual plans for your images, you won't go wrong with digital cameras under 0. These are simple point-and-shoot affairs offering little control and generally acceptable picture quality. A few of the latest models just recently made available on the market, however, aim to change this state of affairs as manufacturers fight over every turf and try to distinguish themselves from their competitors. Thus consumers will soon be confronted with the prospect of facial gesture detection and optical image stabilization among other exotic technologies - all for under a hundred bucks!
As it is, it's still fairly easy to find good quality digital cameras for under 0. Again, expect entry-level features and abilities, but improved technology is on the horizon that will bring more professional performance soon - without, we hope, sacrificing the ease of use for which compacts are so famous!
Two of the best manufacturers of compacts are Fuji and Olympus. Their "budget cameras" are some of the best in the class, offering real bang-for-the-buck value that make them perennial bestsellers year after year. A nice FujiFilm FinePix, for example, can be found for only eighty dollars, complete with anti-blur image stabilization at a resolution of ten megapixels. Or take the Olympus FE-46, with 5x optical zoom at an amazing ninety dollars - on top of face detection and AF tracking. And these models are considered entry-level!Well, they're certainly easy to use, with all kinds of help tutorial aides for first-time photographers. Yet they provide features that just a year ago were considered mid-range to prosumer, and one can only imagine what the next releases in these series will offer!
